Here are a few fun facts about Windsor to impress your friends while you enjoy your pizzas: Windsor Castle is the largest inhabited castle in the world. The Windsor Wheel is 60 metres high and weighs 365 tonnes. In February 1580 Elizabeth Stile of Windsor was tried for witchcraft. She was believed to be a witch partly because she kept a rat called Philip who was described as ‘in very deede a wicked spirite’. Apart from the obvious famous locals, the Windsor area is also home to Elton John, Natalie Imbruglia, Michael Parkinson, Rolf Harris and Nick Faldo. Although born in Stratford-upon-Avon, William Shakespeare lived here for many years, writing such plays as The Merry Wives of Windsor.
