Stourbridge is an historic town on the edge of The Black Country: one of the most intensely industrialised areas of the late 19th century; so named because the area was frequently covered in black soot due to pollution. The rich natural resources in the area have attracted glassmakers since the 1600’s. The Red House Glass Cone on the Stourbridge Canal, houses a museum and regular glass blowing demonstrations. A busy, heritage site, the Cone hosts a series of events, celebrations and exhibitions throughout the year.
