Sandhurst, in Berkshire, is well known for being the home for the Royal Military Academy where many of the royal family have trained. HRH Prince William of Wales was famously a resident between January and December 2006. Also just before the turn of the last century Sir Winston Churchill went to Sandhurst. Although well advertised on signs in the town itself, it is a little known fact that Sandhurst has the best tug-of-war team in the world - they are the world champions. Sandhurst is situated on the edge of the beautiful Windsor Forest, with its rich bracken, heather and many species of tree. In Tudor and Georgian times Royal Hunting parties would arrive and stalk the deer; if you look hard enough, deer can be seen grazing here even today.
