The City of Newport sits on the banks of the River Usk in South Wales, between Cardiff and Bristol. Much of the area is currently in preparation for redevelopment. Located on Bristol Packet Wharf, the Riverfront Arts Centre is – as the name suggests - right on the waterfront. Opened in 2004, it has a 493 capacity theatre equipped for a diverse programme of cultural events. It also has three workshop spaces for art classes and dance studio, recording studio and a small art gallery, which offers many free exhibitions.
