Sundon Park in Luton, where Domino’s located, was built up around the Swedish- owned SKF ballbearing factory. Nearby is the arts centre known as ‘The Hat Factory’, which is instrumental in promoting arts in the area and provides theatre, music, comedy, dance, and film opportunities for the community. The neighbouring suburb Leagrave used to be a village in its own right, and has been a settlement since Neolithic times. The River Lea begins in Leagrave then dawdles across the countryside until it joins the Thames in London. Luton’s famous hat makers, the ‘hatters’, used to come here on their days off and so it became known as ‘Blockers’ Seaside’.
