To the north of London in the east of England, is the large town of Luton. The town’s famous May bank holiday carnival started in 1976 and has become the largest in the whole of Europe. Regrettably, for the first time in its existence, the carnival had to be cancelled in 2007 due to major flooding. Lutonian Danny Cannon who has become famous as a screenwriter, producer and director. He has just signed up to direct The Fast & Furious 4 but has done many other films and TV programmes such as the ‘CSI’ series. Screenwriter David Renwick, (One Foot In The Grave, Jonathon Creek) was also born here.
