Ealing Common is a beautiful common in West London with a fine avenue of chestnut trees, planted in the Victorian times. Charles Jones, who planted the chestnut trees, also designed Ealing Town Hall. Ealing, the ‘Queen of the Suburbs’ is the famous location of the Ealing Studios, which has been instrumental in making hundreds of movies over the years. Star Wars II: Attack of the Clones was partly filmed here and more recently the movie remake of St Trinian’s was produced by Ealing Studios. Not quite as famous is Ealing’s Bankside Theatre, which was billed as London’s smallest theatre and ran from 1928 to 1956.
