Fareham is a market town in Hampshire in the south east of England. It is on the northwest tip of Portsmouth Harbour where the River Wallington joins. As it is located on the harbour, Fareham has a long-standing connection to the sea. There is a Maritime Warfare School here called HMS Collingwood which trains thousands of British and foreign sailors. Fareham is also famed for its clay and for ‘Fareham red bricks’. The most famous building made from these red bricks is the Royal Albert Hall in London. Composer and organist for St. Paul’s Cathedral, Sir John Goss was born in Fareham in 1800.
